Top Ten Reasons to Buy a Folk Uke CD

Folk Uke posted this over at their myspace page & I thought it was cute enough to repost here (that and I won't pass up another opportunity to plug a GREAT ukulele CD!)

TOP TEN REASONS TO BUY A FOLK UKE CD THIS HOLIDAY SEASON:
10. It's got a bar code.
9. Ray Price hates it.
8. One of the songs is pretty good.
7. If you play it backwards, it sounds like someone is playing it backwards
6. For classic high-end coasters, buy a set of four.
5. No animals were harmed in the making of this CD.
4. Cathy's been embezzling fives of dollars and now we're broke.
3. We're tired of hookin' and pimpin' is hard.
2. Critics agree.... well lets just leave it at that.
1. Perfect for suckers who will buy anything.

Who the heck is Ray Price?

Ray Price is a country-western singer/songwriter. He's worked in the past with Willie Nelson, who is--of course--the father of half of Folk Uke.

totally not on the topic, but have you checked out "daffodils and dragons" on Indiana's blog? It is the only link above yours... It's my mothers blog.

Oh, and I am considering buying one because, well, i AM a sucker who will buy anything, but also because you are interested in it and i have to see what the fuss is about. Besides, you introduced me to the Beatles.
I was thinking of you just this morning, and i told my husband about the sign you had printed (remember when printer paper was all one piece with preforations to detach individual sheets... like toilet papaer!?!) anyways, this sign was hanging across the wall in the room that had been converted from a garage into your private domain... "I would rather have a free bottle in front of me than a pre-frontal lobotomy"... After parenting Indiana for just 19 months, i think i would take the lobotomy.

Dak-Ind - Yes, I have been by your Mom's blog. Not as often as I should though. I love her photos. They're one of the few things that actually make me homesick!

LOL! Yes, I do remember. Both the paper and the sign. Somewhere in some box I may have pictures of that room. I'll have to post them if I ever find them.

I think you'd like Folk Uke (But I think EVERYONE would!) Just be warned, some of their lyrics aren't "kid friendly," as the album does carry an explicit lyrics label (and yes, that was one of the reasons I got it myself!)

Hope all is well with you and the little one. I'll be seeing you next month!

i would LOVE to see a picture of that old room. few things make me wish i was young again, but hanging out listening to music and solving the worlds problems even when i couldnt solve my own, those are memories i would live again.

I like folk music. Sounds good to me. Here via Michelle.

The background image on this page is a Hebrew translation of the verse from Bob Dylan's song  It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding), from which the title of this blog is taken. Translation courtesy of Yoram Aharon of Hod-HaSharon's page--found via YudelLine-- which has many Dylan lyrics in Hebrew.
