The Mike Cunningham Memorial Fitness Center

Long time readers of this blog will recall my cousin, Mike Cunningham who died from ALS last year. Last night the school he worked at as a teacher and football coach (and from which we both graduated High School), West Albany High, dedicated its Fitness Center in his name. I don't think there could be a better tribute to Mike. He was an athelete and he LOVED that school. Having a part of it named for him, especially a part of it that will be used by other West Albany athaletes, would make him very proud.

Below are a few pictures my mother took at the dedication ceremony:

i heard the school was going to do something like this, but as always, im a little behind. I really only pay attention to the jr high level right now.
The suprise of the decade? I have always assumed that i would be a rebel mom next year, but due in part to this new athletic room, West Albany is standing out both athletically and acedemically from South right now and Jimmie is considering sending Duck to West. Duck is exactlly 20 years behind us, adn will be graduating in 2011.

The background image on this page is a Hebrew translation of the verse from Bob Dylan's song  It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding), from which the title of this blog is taken. Translation courtesy of Yoram Aharon of Hod-HaSharon's page--found via YudelLine-- which has many Dylan lyrics in Hebrew.
