My New Uke

My Laptop is still down, but I wanted to share some shots of my new ukulele. Its a Oscar Schmidt OU2-E Concert Uke with an active pick-up system. I've had it for a week now & absolutely love it.

I was reading your blog and noticed you mentioned you liked Criminal Minds. I run a small fansite for the show, www.criminalmindstv.com and was hoping I could
get a link from your blog somewhere to my site. I would be incredibly grateful.

I'd love to hear back if you get the time (contact@criminalmindstv.com)

Warmest,

Amy

You are too incredibly cool looking with that Uke.

By the way, is the ukulele difficult to play? Do you take lessons or are you teaching yourself how to play?

I've picked it up pretty easily & I've been told by those who play both that it is easier to play than a guitar, since there are two less strings to worry about when chording. Though I've also been told that when you get more advanced it can be more challenging to find notes because of the two less strings. I'm teaching myself how to play. I started by going through some of the on-line lessons at http://www.ukeschool.com/ and have been just trying to teach myself by learning songs. There are a few sites on-lines with uke chords and tabs, but I also use guitar sites to get the relevent chord progressions for some songs.

I'm having a lot of fun with it. I've even been able to jam with a few friends who play guitar, which was a blast :)

hi John, I want to apologize for 'putting you on the spot', I realize my error.

Perhaps I can present some things on a Blog in the near future, and maybe you can look and if you choose to, comment.

I like the looks of your Uke, I am sure the sound is wonderful.

The only music that I listen to is Chassidic from Israel, thru the internet.

I love Jewish Folk music tho, perhaps it is Yiddish, but I haven't found a source of it on the web yet.

The background image on this page is a Hebrew translation of the verse from Bob Dylan's song  It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding), from which the title of this blog is taken. Translation courtesy of Yoram Aharon of Hod-HaSharon's page--found via YudelLine-- which has many Dylan lyrics in Hebrew.
